With a name that screams twee in 20-feet-high neon letters but a sound that rivals Seattle noise freaks The Blood Brothers for sheer, frantic intensity, Help She Can't Swim don't disappoint those decamped in either faction with this, their first release in over a year.
'Hospital Drama' makes its intentions loud and clear from the off, spitting out the opening salvo "I went to a party spelt P.I.T.Y.!" over throttling keyboards and vicious guitars before arriving at the brutally infectious chorus of "I lost my insides a year ago, but every now and then I lose a little more", emphasising every last word as if it's a matter of life or death. Which I suppose the loss of one's internal organs might well be...
What this actually says in real terms is that Help She Can't Swim are best consumed at their sickest, and as hospital dramas go, this is undoubtedly more convincing and enthralling than an entire series of Casualty.
