‘A Place That Glows’ is like a swirly space rock log flume. There are big splashy bits, gentle floaty bits, and it saves the most fun for the end. The verses pound along in an almost Kraut-rocking fashion and slide into eddying, organ encrusted breakdowns. Then, drifting through a moment of acoustic serenity, it charges into a great big mandolin-like guitar solo. Sadly, after stepping off and drying your trousers, you realise it’s not quite as memorable as you’d hoped.
