Coming from the same city that heralded the likes of Ian Curtis, Ian Brown and the Gallaghers, Omerta are the latest in a long line of Mancunians whose sound can be traced back to numerous eras and artists, yet they don't actually sound like anyone else.
'One Chance' is a bucketful of brooding intensity, the kind of thing worthy of the title 'power ballad' if it didn't stand for all kinds of drudgery and dross. Vocalist Aaron Starkie, sounding like a fledgling Jeff Buckley after the odd pint of Boddies, opines "Give me one last chance" like his boss has just found him giving his missus a good seeing to at the back of the work canteen.
With something as flawless as this, it's hard to imagine Omerta being in the last chance saloon for the forseeable future.
