What happened to Britrock? It wasn't always jokey, half-arsed attempts at bridging the gap between 'pop' and 'rock', was it?
As it happens, no, it wasn't. And Britrock's finest purveyors, after a 2 year spell in exile, are back, and rocking it like they were never gone. 'Repeat To Fade' is exactly what you'd expect from 3 Colours Red - a propane-fuelled, riff-heavy monster of a rock song, spitting in the eye of all competition. Being on a small indie label hasn't stopped 3CR from creating the big sound of old - Keith Baxter's percussion are more thunderous, and Pete Vuckovic's lyrics more vitriolic, than ever before. It's more muscular and metal than their back catalogue, and hopefully a full length release of similar quality is on the cards, because 3CR have never sounded so enthusiastic, fresh, and so goddamn now.
For anyone who - god forbid - missed out on 3 Colours Red first time round, they're not a new band. No, no, they're very much back.
