Nemo

Piccadilly

Label:

adream by Alice Dream January 16th, 2003

A rush of synth sweetness for a guitar-tooth...

Nemo manage to hybridise (is that a word?) the very best of guitar pop with the squelchy and arcane worlds of electro. Not in a Ladytron standoffish way, and not in a **Fischer Spooner studied art school pose but in a real, passionate and most of all engaging way.

Vocals come on like Scott Walker being slapped by Warhol, engaging and almost comic in their delivery.... "Picadilly in sepia, we are naked on the underground.....There are trillions" Whatever that means.

This is the sound of the resurrection of the truly ambitious pop bands of the late 80s. Duran Duran, Human League and even Dead or Alive, before thought to be long time dead face a revival thanks to these immaculately coiffed iconic pop boys.

Buy it.
