Throw in a rendition of ‘Sweet Surrender’ by Tim Buckley (dad of Jeff Buckley in case you were in any doubt) and what’s left is a record inferior to the sum of its parts. Which is never a good thing.

Dot Allison’s most stunning beauty has come from minimalism and, as luck would have it, this is nearer the sub-DIV rip-offs that infect drone rock and lounge dance acts left, right and centre. Imagine Electroclash done by Sleeper. Exactly. And given the Holmes/ Fearless involvement, that’s unforgivable.
