Britain's secret weapon against posing fakers and over-polished corporate funded misery release another DIY double A-side.
Music's so fucking dull these days, I really find it hard to get excited about anything. Evidenced by the distinct lack of reviews on my part.
Oh sure, I listen to all sorts of music, and I'll buy the odd album here and there, but nothing seems to have the power to nail my bollocks to the ceiling and batter me like a human piñata.
Nothing, that is, except Thoria. Like all their previous material (such as the excellent Keep 'Em In The Attic) they eschew current musical trends and ProTools production sheen for raw energy, and it works. That doesn't mean they neglect the basic things, like tunes. They have them by the bucketload too.
'I Got Satan' and 'Way It Keeps Going' are two such tunes. The former lulls you into a false sense of security with an acoustic, gentle intro before blasting the shit out of you with sonic debris so chunky you'd need a thousand Millennium Falcons to shoot it into another dimension.
'Way It Keeps Going', on the other hand, tones down the noise a teeny bit to deliver what is their most growlalong number yet. Make sure you snap up one of the 666 limited copies fast, else the no doubt pending album will be a snarling, rocking surprise for your delicate ears.
