I once saw a member of A at a record fair in Camden. There he was, scouring quietly through the 7 inches, undisturbed by the record-buying public around him. After this single blasts into the charts, you won't see that so much. In fact, you won't see it at all.
"Nothing", the first single to be drawn from their "Hi-Fi Serious" album is probably the best record A have ever released, simply because it's so commercial. There's no whiff of 'selling-out' in the air, A have simply produced a cracking track that may appeal to more than their normal fanbase.
With a riff Linkin Park would die for, but don't deserve, "Nothing" bursts out of your speakers from it's opening seconds. It's almost violent chorus, "Gimme some love, give me some skin..., could well define a generation or two. All the ingredients necessary for a bona-fida chart-shagging monster.
Stirring stuff indeed.
