While that Love-less old tramp ensures she squeezes as much as possible from the Nirvana legacy, Coventry-based Thoria are forging ahead with tracks which suggest that the spirit of the band (circa Bleach) never died.
Their latest single -- Keep 'Em in the Attic -- might steal the muddy guitars, off-kilter riffs and gravelly vocals lock, stock and two smoking barrels but you can't help jerking your body around and tapping your feet in a rough approximation of time. I quite like it, I hope their next album is as catchy throughout.
The track is backed with another Nirvana-alike ditty -- What A Day. With demonic circus guitars and a pumping beat, it's another foot tapper. Whack up the bass and make like you're epileptic, baby.
Original they're not, but when they rocks like this, who cares? Invest if you can.
