Female fronted, punk rock band Pillbox release EP 'Sterlise Me,' a follow-up to last year's debut album, 'Gimme What I Want'. The lead singer, and writer of all the songs, Susan Hyatt, is not the next Courtney Love, but she's pretty damn good. The title track 'Sterlise Me' is a fast, punky tune with a great chorus that kicks in after the mainly guitar-free verses. The stand-out track on the EP though is 'Stalker'. It starts off quiet and mellow, but then catches you by surprise with the fast chorus, which oddly enough seems to end rather quickly and goes back into the mellow verse before you can appreciate it. However, the fast-ness of the song comes to place at the end of the track, accompanied by rather interesting lyrics:
"I love you, I want you
Want to be you
Want to see you dead"
The most interesting song on here though is 'Hold Me With Your Nuclear Arms'. With lyrics like "The S.W.A.T. team's got my aunt" and "How the F.B.I tried to take your life," makes you wonder where the inspiration comes from. Then again, maybe it's best that we don't know.
