A split single between Moonkat & Meanwhile, back in Communist Russia
MBICR like to talk through their eerie guitar and strings soundscapes in a vaguely Arab Strap style. They are not very exciting. Who is exciting is Moonkat, providing the second two songs on this split cd ep. "Tonight I Am Discontented" features rough drumming, drawling female vocals and lo-fi plucked guitar lines. Sounding not dissimilar to Sleater Kinney, Moonkat should by all accounts be on tour support with someone like Le Tigre. The lack of bass is the only real concern here, without it Moonkat appear to be having a minor strop rather than declaring all out war. Some more oomph would no doubt see this catapulted into the hooded hearts of the alt rock overground.
