Magnétophone are Matt Saunders and John Hanson, they both play keyboards of sorts. The title track is taken from their forthcoming album 'I Guess Sometimes I Need To Be Reminded Of How Much You Love Me'.

Like fellow Brummies Plone, Magnétophone create instrumental electronica. While Plone's music is soothing and uplifting, Magnétophone tend to be more frantic and much more darker.

The opener 'Oh Darlin' sounds like a shortened To Rococo Rot, it doesn't really make an impact like their epics, as it doesn't have the time to evolve. Unlike the energetic title track 'Come On The Phone' it starts of extremely slowly and then builds up to a chaotic mash of sounds before settling down again and gently drifting into the next song 'Lubeecha'. 'Lubeecha' is nowhere near as frenzied as the track before, it's a quiet soothing track, which could easily be mistaken for a Plone track. The CD ends with ‘Colourphone’, which is similar to 'Come on the phone' in that the duo keep adding different sounds and instruments to it, the end result is amazing. If you persuaded Godspeed You Black Emperor to swap their guitars for keyboards, it might sound a little bit like this.

Considering that the duo both play the same instruments they create a staggering amount of energy and emotion and the album should be an absolute corker.
