OK not quite but they’re probably the craziest band in Wales, which is pretty impressive as Wales is the home to some of the craziest people in the world. The 19-minute, 5 track journey through their insane world begins with frenzied ‘Autopilot’, it starts off with a scream that would impress Iggy Pop then drifts into SFA-esque electronica with random sounds, warped vocals and unforgettable choruses. Then they take us to ‘Sargasso Sea’, which is a straightforward pop-rock song with impressive guitar riffs and stirring lyrics. ‘Ripped Stones’ sounds like it’s gonna be your average acoustic number but then Sion softly speaks of “horn headed monsters in baths” and various mad things that’ll make you wonder if Howard Marks is still in business, and what exactly is in Wales’ water.

Next up is ‘Big Lazy Fish’ which reminds me of ex FF Vinylers mo-ho-bish-o-pi before V2 got their claws into them and made them write daytime radio friendly tunes. The journey ends with ‘Harm’, which begins very quietly with Sion whispering about killing humans, then it goes up a gear and ends with unstructured noise that would bring a smile to Sonic Youth’s faces.
