I was in the minority that was actually upset to hear that the Irish pop punkers Co_Dot (or CO.UK as they were known for ages) were to be no more so imagine how excited I was to hear that their former lead singer, Joe Brush, was back with a brand new band.
Comprising of members of fellow Irish bands f.u.e.l. and Clearshot, Joe's new project is not too far of a departure from his former band in that they write catchy pop rock tunes that lodge in your brain long after you have turned the CD off. Opening song 'The Lake' has CODOT written all over it sounding like it should have been included on the 'Brainwash' mini-album with hints of songs such as 'Big Green Bath' & 'Not Today' edging in and you start to wonder if this is the band of old with a brand new cast. This is dispelled with tracks like 'Until Today' which is much more laid-back and indie-ified than anything CODOT ever managed in their all too brief existence.
Currently unsigned and picking up some profile support slots back in their homeland, it could be a while until we see them on our shores but give it time because Mr. Brush could be ready to finish what he started.
