Wanna hear what's going down in Katmandu? Then look no further than Rai Ko Ris, Nepal's prime purveyors of full on hardcore punk rock.
Championing the tiny local scene in the strife torn country in the Himalayan foothills the band are at the epicentre of the nation¹s tiny hardcore scene. Their album is a fantastic blast of old school neo Crass British punk and American hardcore the twin male/female vocal attack gives it a great edge and the rough and ready production can only add to the rawhide punk rock action.
The songs are catchy as hell with politics battling it out with real life concerns, the cover keeps to the value for money ethic of punk rock with its 'pay no more than 100 Nepali rupees' warning and Indian writing. The fact that the album also has three bonus tracks on it from fellow Nepalese punk crew Guy Goru hints that something is stirring way up on the roof of the world...
