Named after the beauty queen contest in their home town Miss Bromley are the kind of band that sing about everyday things in an everyday way yet work so well you find yourself humming every song. Taking influence primarily from Belle&Sebastian Up The Creyke starts with the violin backed I Need A Holiday, gathering pace as it goes, the crescendo finding true anthem potential. Nothing Ever Changes is a little more awkward with it’s asthmatic guitar hook and horns, the lyrics, ”Don’t list to Limp Bizkit or Korn, they will rot your brain, and amplify your pain” telling you exactly what direction they’re coming from. It sounds like it’s been recorded on a dictaphone with a sock over the internal mic but with the right production (and a modest orchestra) they could easily find themselves asked to play All Tomorrow’s Parties at the very least.
