borne of a personal challenge to record a song a day in his apartment, craig finn releases a new solo lp which focuses on quieter, sparser songs than those of finn's most famous outfit, the hold steady. the title 'clear heart full eyes' is a juxtaposed reference to friday night lights, a tv show that excited and moved craig. the album signifies honesty and transparency. it's about being optimistic and open without succumbing to the weariness or doubt that comes with age and experience.
