debut album on island records from four piece london band tribes. the record was produced by mike crossley (razorlight, arctic monkeys and kooks) and is a big bundle of joyous britpop and sleazy english glamour. the sound joins the dots between suede, mudhoney, 'bends' era radiohead and the libertines. it's full of rush-inducing choruses, snarly guitars and impassioned vocals. 'baby' is a paean to youth in all its hedonistic, messy glory, told by four lads that are still fully embracing it themselves. the album is one that distils their raw, exuberant kicks and adds some perhaps unexpected depths to proceedings too.
