the third album from detroit-based experimental pop chanteuse my brightest diamond. over the last three years shara worden (the woman behind the my brightest diamond moniker) has been crafting this sumptuous, beautiful collection of songs. working with celebrated chamber ensemble ymusic (bon iver, antony and the johnsons, rufus wainwright) to build this magnificent album, with hints of roberta flack, regina spektor and edith piaf, amongst others. in between making this album, shara has been a contributing and touring member of the decemberists and has worked with the national and their various off shoots. she could also be heard on sufjan stevens most recent album, 'the age of adz'.
