L-VIS 1990 - Neon Dreams
James Connolly might look like Jedward, and most of Neon Dreams might be designed to be deployed during all-weather housewarmings, but tracks such as ‘True Romance’ show he’s a producer worth watching.»

closesince launching the imprint at the start of last year james connolly and his night slugs cohorts have been using the brand to peddle a wide range of uk bass music. james himself has always been loosely tied to house, using it as a base from which to experiment with a range of different styles that has come to define the label and its roster. his debut long player continues along this vein and features a number of vocal appearances from the bristol-based javeon mccarthy - who also guested on julio bashmore's future boogie debut, father father. 'one more day' is the collaborative efforts of all three - bashmore included - with further production combinations coming via sessions in paris with two affiliates of the french hip-hop outfit ttc: teki latex - co-founder of sound pellegrino - and producer para one. nick hook has also lent production assistance. upon the record, james comments: "in the late '90s the likes of daft punk, chemical brothers and basement jaxx defined the art of the dance music album. their albums transcended time and any musical fads, but most of all they took you on a journey. creating neon dreams for me was about recapturing these elements that made me fall in love with dance music all those years ago."
