former red house painters frontman mark kozelek was always unquestionably the big boss man of his post-red house painters outfit sun kil moon, but with the release of the latter's fourth album, the curiously titled 'admiral fell promises', sun kil moon truly becomes a band in name only. that is to say, there's nothing else on it but kozelek's mournful vocals and acoustic nylon-string guitar. all those kozelek obsessives out there who ever thought they couldn't get up close enough to their hero's songs have finally gotten the album of their dreams. the 10 song, 60 minute album is released via kozelek's own label caldo verde.
