Following Napster’s surprise UK launch last week, Oxfam will launch Big Noise Music this Wednesday (26th May). Ten pence from every 99p download will go to help fight poverty in the Third World as part of the organisation’s Make Trade Fair campaign.
Over 5 million people have signed up to support Make Trade Fair, most notably Chris Martin, from Coldplay.
Badly Drawn Boy commented: “Even small amounts of money can make big changes where Oxfam works - so buying your music on BigNoiseMusic.com means that you are making a difference to people all around the world.”
Other supporters who’ve donated tracks exclusive to Big Noise Music include George Michael and Faithless.
Mel C said: “I'm really looking forward to giving an exclusive song to the site in a few months time."
