Ginger has made further announcements regarding his plan to become the most prolific British songwriter and performer. In addition to the Wildhearts UK tour and solo acoustic dates, Ginger will also be gigging with his other band, Silver Ginger 5. The band, who have not yet released a record in the UK, but have still headlined shows at the Scala and Astoria venues in London, will be playing the following dates in June:
Saturday 9th June - Joseph's Well, Leeds
Sunday 10th June - Zodiac, Oxford
Monday 11th June - Underworld, London
Ginger's aim to release 12 singles before the end of the year is still going ahead, with the first, 'I'm A Lover Not A Fighter', scheduled for release on 18 June. It is likely that Ginger's live double CD will be released earlier in the month, to correspond not only with his acoustic gigs in South Shields and London, but also with the official opening of Changes One's new premises, where Ginger will be performing live on June 5th.
All of this news comes after disappointment as Silver Ginger 5 failed to get a record deal in the UK, and The Wildhearts were turned down for both the Reading Festival and Ozzfest. Ginger's attitude is more than positive, however, and speaking about his three current musical projects, he says: "I want to do something that isn't bound by preconceptions. I have a band to be as musically amazing as I want (SG5), a band to be as crazy as I want (The Wildhearts)... and now I have something that is all me, something that doesn't have to be anything. I'm a very lucky man!"
