Bodysong from director Simon Pummell, is a unique collection of clips from the last hundred years or so, compiled to demonstrate how different cultures celebrate different lifetime landmarks and changes. Starting with the fertilisation of the egg right through to decaying of death, with puberty, sexual liberation, war, peace, and the unnecessary violence of man thrown in inbetween. Often uncompromising, Bodysong is sometimes a little hard to understand or even appreciate what the point of it is, but ultimately it is a commendable experimental film.
To find out more about the director and his movie here is a video interview with Simon Pummell himself: www.pathefilms.co.uk/bodysong
