Firstly, the bitching. In a recent edition of Revolver magazine, vocalist Chino Moreno made some less than complimentary remarks about fellow metallers Korn, in particular, vocalist Jonathan Davies. Chino is quoted as saying :-
"As Korn go on, it’s the same things – bad childhoods and mean moms. It gets too old after a while. How old is Jonathan? Thirty? How long has it been since he lived with his parents?"
Davies has retaliated this week through Kerrang! mag accusing Chino of being jealous about the popularity of Korn. This one could be a long running bitch-fest so keep your eyes peeled (and to think, Chino contributed guest vox on Korn's second album...)
In other news, as previously reported the Deftones have confirmed that they will be playing at least one UK date this September with A Perfect Circle who, by coincidence, have an album out at exactly the same time - what a stroke of luck for them!
There's also the possibility that the Deftones may have a new single out to coincide all of that, as yesterday (28 June) the band were off filming a video for their track 'Bloody Cape', directed by James Minchin, the band's photographer over the years. The single is planned to be released internationally, but not in the US. No date has been confirmed yet.
And finally in the last piece of Deftones related news we could find, Team Sleep (Chino's side band) are set to go in to the studio next week to start recording a number of new tracks for their debut album (which still has no provisional release date). Moreno himself will not be with the band as he plans to track his parts for the songs at a later date.
