Talking to Mean Street magazine, co-frontman Daniel Brummel says "it's definitely a breakthrough for us... We really grew up in terms of our sound and willingness to experiment with different types of songwriting and arrangements."
They've developed their popcore sound into something stronger and more diverse for the new record, incorporating strings, sax, 12-string acoustic guitar, flute, synths and even a marching band on one track.
"We kinda went crazy orchestrating it," they say, "As a result, there are more interesting sounds."
Talking about the album's release on their recently redesigned website, they are as grateful as ever to their growing army of fans: "We're proud that we've remained an independent band this long and we really couldn't have survived this long if not for a fanbase that really cares about our music. Together we've had some great times on this tour, thanks for all the handshakes and demos and peanut butter cookies and kind e-mails. Nice to feel welcome in faraway places..."
The album was released this week on Kung Fu records.
