Now It's On for Grandaddy
oappleby by Ollie Appleby April 5th, 2003
A music cluster bomb is coming our way with California's Grandaddy releasing their first new material for almost a full 2 years.

First up is the single 'Now It's On' out on May 26th, followed a week later by a 7" version of the single, followed then by its parent album 'Sumday' a week later on June 9th, early details of which we mentioned back here. Time to pay up y'all.

'Now It's On' is released on 2 CDs, a DVD and a 7" single. All songs were written and produced by Grandaddy's Jason Lytle. Details go a-something like this:

CD1: 'Now It's On'(edit) / 'Trouble With A Capital T' / 'Hey Cowboy, The Phone's For You'
CD2: 'Now It's On' / 'Getting Jipped' / 'Yeah Is What We Had' (enhanced video)
DVD: 'Now It's On' / 'Now It's Upside Down'
7": 'Now It's On' / 'Trouble With A Capital T'

The DVD content 'Now It's Upside Down' is a 13 minute film of the band "misbehaving and nearly killing themselves in their hometown of Modesto (really)."

Grandaddy return to the UK this summer to play their first proper gigs since the V festivals back in 2001, the band have also just been confirmed to play this year's Glastonbury Festival, you know tickets are sold out for that one tho.

June
10th - BIRMINGHAM Academy 2
11th - BRISTOL University
12th - LONDON Astoria

July
1st - MANCHESTER University
2nd - SHEFFIELD Leadmill
3rd - GLASGOW QMU
