rubbafish by Colin Weston August 15th, 2002
Superb Scottish band The Magnificents are to play this weekend and have several great support slots upcoming.

Following on from supporting Mogwai at the trail end of last year, the band will be performing live at Nice N' Sleazys in Glasgow as part of the Bunkdada Music & Arts Event. The gig is on Saturday 17 August and starts at 2.00 pm with The Magnificents onstage around 9.00 pm.

In addition to this they are also due to play the following dates :-

August

26 - The Venue, Edinburgh (Planet Pop date) - £7
30 - Ego, Edinburgh - £12 (£10 students)

The first date is part of the month long Planet Pop gigs with other acts that have included the likes of Ugly Duckling, Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster & Jay Farrar. The other band on the night is Vue.

The second date is with "disco-kitsch teen-c popstars" (sorry, love that description) Bis & ProForma with several DJ's also throughout the night. Doors open at 9 pm and keeps going until 5am... nice! For more info click here.

Download the demo MP3 of The Magnificents superb track 'Kids Now' and then check them out!
