Pitchshifter - Matt Grundy leaves
greed by Graham Reed January 7th, 2002
Pitchshifter guitarist Matt Grundy, who joined shortly before the release of their last CD "Deviant" in 2000, has announced via the bands website, that he's leaving the band. Despite his uncanny resemblance to Martin Gore of Depeche Mode, he's not joining them. Nope, he's got a full-time side project he's decided to concentrate on. As the post of the bands message board states....

"Matt Grundy has left the band.....There is no animosity between Matt and Pitchshifter, it’s simply time for him to move on and explore other avenues. We would like to give a big thanks to Matt and wish him every success with his new band ‘The Blueprint.", a Nottingham based group comprising of Matt Grundy, Earthtone9 singer Karl Middleton, Pitchshifter bassist Mark Clayden, and Consumed's guitarist and drummer Will Burchell and Chris Billam."

Guitarist Matt Grundy said in an online interview for earpollution in 2000 that indicates this may have been on the cards for some time, despite his almost immeadiate acquisiton of a pitchshifter tatoo just after joining the band ; "It doesn't matter what I do after this. [...] Because I can say to people, 'Fuck you! I was in Pitchshifter."
