Brett Anderson is taking time out from recording the band's fifth studio album (at a secret location in the English countryside) to appear at the festival on October 14.
He is set to read some of his own poetry at this year's Bristol Poetry Festival. It will take place at Bristol's Arnolfini Arts Centre.
Festival organiser Claire Williamson told the official Suede website: "We consider Brett's lyrics to be at the cutting edge."
"He's one of Britain's finest living poets."
Bernard Butler was unavailabe for comment, probably off having his hair re-thatched or something
Anderson will be supported by two of "Britain's finest Rock'n'Roll performance poets", Karen Hayley and Jared Louche. Tickets are available from the Arnolfini Box Office on 0117 929 9191.
