This week, DiS is trekking to the Netherlands in our never-ending quest to source new music.
The Netherlands, Holland, 'Dutchville' - whatever you wish to term it, DiS is heading there this week for another dose of new music discovery, with full reports back to y'all for your aural pleasure.
After a successful jaunt to Montréal late last year where we happened across the delights of The Besnard Lakes, Patrick Watson and others, we're heading to the 2007 instalment of the annual Noorderslag Weekend/Eurosonic Festival.
180 bands perform over three days within a five minute walking radius in a highly-regarded event that is now in its 21st successful year. Taking place in the Dutch town of Groningen, an hour's train ride away from capital Amsterdam, Eurosonic plays host to some of Europe's finest new talent and acts as the perfect start-of-year showcase for press, festival bookers, labels and fans alike.
British acts performing include Patrick Wolf, Enter Shikari, James Yorkston and Das Wanderlust. International talent includes Boris, Hot Gossip, Uffie, zZz and forthcoming DiScover show stars Loney, dear.
You can find out more about Eurosonic/Noorderslag here and you can expect a full report and our favourite international tips from the event in the very near future.
