We don't wanna sound too much like we're masturbating up each others backs, but it was a fantastic night, totally and utterly sold out, down at our favourite London venue (fact!), the Underworld in Camden.
Redjetson (redjetson.co.uk) 8pm, first on and it's nearly a full-house already! RJ are the band we talked the promoters/agent to slipping onto the bill and they did themselves proud. This was their first show out of the toilet circuit and the boys from Chelmsford treated us to 5 voyages through post-rock soundscapes, building into mountains of Sonic Youthy noize with often compared to Joy Division vocals from Clive over the top. In just over 30mins they won over every Mogwai lover in the house and from what was said after, a lot of Biffy's more 'rawk' fans too - we know this cus they flogged loads of cds! Not everyone loved 'em mind, but not everyone loves everything, right?
Next up were X is Loaded, formally known as Tenner. Best thing I heard anyone say about 'em all night was "they sound like someone giving an A&R man's turd a blow job!" They're alright if you really, really, REALLY like indie-rock like Intentions of an Asteroid, Halo and Kinesis, I suppose.
There was only one band everyone ventured out and slapped down £8 to see. Half this tour and sore throats locked under their belts, the threesome hit us with that patented three way Barbershopcore! The new stuff all sounded louder and riddled with even more pop gems. They played a lot off 'Blackened Sky', including my personal favourites 'Hope for An Angel' (the best b-side of all time, maybe!) and 'Convex Concave'. Here's the full set-list someone posted on their messageboard:

We'll do a full report of the tour using the bits you've sent us when the tours over. Plus we're hitting the road with the band from Brighton-Manchester to interview the band and find out what goes down on a day to day basis.
Oh and Biffy release their Colin-Murray single of the week 'The Ideal Height' on March 24th via Beggars Banquet. Loads of talk about the tour over @ biffyclyro.com. Basically, if you live near any of the remaining dates, come along…
