A celebration of Uncle Joe Strummer - in memoriam...and a Xmas bash to boot.
4 great bands who have been inspired by and are indebted to Joe and The Clash, doing their bit in keeping his memory alive and raising some much needed dosh for Strummerville.
All bands are doing at least one Clash cover and our DJ's for the night will be playing a selection of vinyl that has got a little bit of Joe's DNA within. It's gonna' be a Saturday night like they used to make 'em
The Ten o Sevens
"This the real deal, proper punk rock’n’roll! These four boys combine elements of early punk rock with the sound and attitude of the most obnoxious of garage punk bands. The songs are fast, loud, nasty, snotty, catchy and sweaty simple chord tight style tunes that will stick to your head like cheap superglue!"- Dirty Water
Currently in the process of recording their long awaited debut LP, so keep your ears open...

The Lone Groover
Named after the anti-hero of a comic strip that graced the weekly music inkies of the1970s…….. THE LONE GROOVER is a one man and guitar outfit who channels his love of folk, punk and Americana into classic songs of beauty, protest and passion – agit-FOLK ‘N’ BOP if you will - Songs that betray a fine eye for detail, a healthy respect for tradition, and a working knowledge of REAL LIFE!!! Always putting he(art) and soul into his performances, armed with his trusty Gibson, fuelled with good vibes, talkin’ jive and sporting sharp clobber, TLG is a definite “one to watch”. The London based songwriter has spent recent months folk ‘n’ bopping his way across the capital and had support slots with Willy Mason, Alabama 3, Glenn Tilbrook and Beans on Toast amongst others......but let’s leave the last words to ‘el Groover himself……… “let’s be clear…..I’m not a solo artist, I’m a one man group…..there’s a subtle difference….I wanna walk like The Clash and sound like Bob Dylan”. Folk music for City dwellers!

White Ape
"Sordid tales for troubled times: White Ape mix psychedaelic surf-a-billy rumble, Strummer-inspired garage-band ska, glam-rock hooligan chanting, Fall-like wordplay and even some mangled sea-shanties. Satorially sharp and and crackling with nervous energy, these boys will make your Christmas come early!
“Deranged twisted psych punk.... sounds like a bunch of tanked-up tarantulas dressed in dinner jackets tip-toeing down a dark alleyway. Welcome to the cult world of white ape...” - FEED YOUR HEAD
"Joe Strummer taught me that being magnificent is more important than being perfect and I'm damn pleased he did. I hope we can do him proud on 22nd!" Tommy Ape

Billy Prince Brown
"Music has saved many lives and certainly did save mine! I'm very proud to join the Windmill line up, to celebrate Joe's birthday and push forward the Strummerville concept! Not enough people know about it and its time to change it!" BPB
