All Aboard Records 2010 Update
So, after a quiet mid-2009, we had an awesome last few months. With 5 releases over 4 months with four different bands, it's safe to say i was pretty busy!
We released the debut 7 track MCD by math-pop lot Pharaohs in November (with a single - and our first video] for 'Squashed Against My Wall' in September.) Pharaohs will be splitting 2010 between Uni, shows and releasing a new single.
In December, we released two more CDs. The first being a split CD between long-time friends, and UK pop-punk hopefuls All Or Nothing and Chaos Days. The two bands did a ten date tour in support of this. In 2010, All Or Nothing plan to spend their time touring the UK with A Loss For Words and recording their second album in the USA.
Tell It To The Marines also released their fantastic debut EP 'Bridges', featuring 5 tracks of soaring atmospherics, crystal clear production and choruses the size of England. Tell It To The Marines plan to spend the majority of 2010 touring.
So far, we have three planned releases for 2010.
The first, in exactly one month, will be the debut LP by alt-pop duo John Candy.
Buckinghamshire based John Candy is the two man collaboration between Ant West and George Lindsay (Tonight is Goodbye, Futures). Although the duo are more renowned for their pop-punk projects, this self produced LP features 11 tracks of laid back alternative pop, for fans of Death Cab For Cutie, Jimmy Eat World and Sigur Ros. Effortlessly moving from the indie pop-rock feel of the title track 'Conversations', through to the slowly growing piano led album finale 'Eat Fire', via the electronica-influenced 'People Sink' – Conversations is an album of great variety. Lyrically inspired by Jack Keroac, West's distinctive voice tells tales of his childhood, travels and – as shown in the album's lead video 'The Long Run' - his aspirations in life.
Conversations will hit stores as a /300 12" vinyl on the 8th February.
Secondly, we'll be releasing the second EP by Wolverhampton based pop-punk foursome Maycomb
Maycomb have quietly been making quite a name for themselves over the past year. Touring alongside The Wonder Years in the Summer, as well as a fair few other tours throughout the past year - they ended it by recording their debut EP 'Cyrstal Tiger Blues' with Frankie Torpey (Mimi Soya, The Auteur, This City). Again, the band plan to spend the majority of 2010 on the road with the likes of The Lock And Keys, Kyoto Drive as well as shows alongside A Loss For Words.
Crystal Tiger Blues will be out around mid March.
Finally we plan to release a second download-only single for Pharaohs entitled 'Photosynthesis'.
Expect off kilter rhythms off set by massive melodies and technical guitarwork. As of yet, there is no planned release date.
