Promoters or bands who think they can do a better job wanted
Howdy, as from April/May time we will be looking for people to run some shows at The Good Ship. We generally have Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays available, occasionally Sundays.
We have no time for promoters who are purely out to make a quick buck. Nothing wrong with a promoter making a profit, in fact we think a promoter absolutely should but that should be after putting in a lot of hard work and creating a successful show, not after getting 4 bands and asking them to do all the work and then giving them a pound after every 10th person or some such nonsense. If you are in a band you will know that numerous venues and promoters in London work this way, it is nothing short of a disgrace.
Anyway we have been investing in the venue, staff and advertising plus recently installed some serious acoustic treatment to make the sound as crisp as the shape will allow. We would strongly prefer to have no hire charge as we want creativity to flourish without too much worry about the finances however we ask for a £50 deposit which is refundable if the show is worthy enough. We have a flexible capacity of 190 to 240. There is a late licence til 2am and a free jukebox, we are 5 minutes away from Kilburn Jubilee and 1 minute away from Brondesbury BR.
So if you are a promoter who wants to put together a show or if you are in a band and you want to put together a night of like minded acts please message me with some info to John@thegoodship.co.uk
