Know any bands, who'd like to play a library?
Hello hello,
A friend of mine works at the Idea Store in Whitechapel (big glass library...) and they're putting on a 'Get Loud in Libraries' night, and she's looking for bands that might be interested in getting involved... thought it was worth asking if you guys knew of anyone who'd be interested... her criteria are thus;
"Bands that are good live, i know you're going to hate this but...have a middle of the road essence! I don't mean boring I just mean indie/pop/rock that appeals to more than one demographic. Something with lots of funky instruments and a bit of personality. The idea of playing on the top story of a glass box with panoramic views of the city must appeal to the bands and they can't have any racially offensive lyrics about terrorists. We have plenty of space and can organise publicity. Oh and if any of the bands have a tenuous link with libraries or london that would be good e.g the lead singer is an ex-librarian, the song is called 'sex between the shelves' and the band is call 'Biblio!tech'"
I've got a few possibles in mind, but if anyone had any suggestions could you let me know at fiona[at]last[dot]fm thankyou, please. I think it's a super-fab concept.
