Cheap?

I can currently only access the interpipe at work, which limits my enjoyment somewhat, so I need to get my own. But I haven't got a clue where to start looking...

Only requirements are a large HD and maybe the ability to play Football Manager, but that aint really essential. I was looking at some of the systems on ebay, but is it wise to get one off there?
