well, if you live in Bristol you'll probably know about this already anyway, BUT, the Thekla has been sold to Rock City, will be refurbished shortly and inevitably re-opened as an Academy-on-water.

(p.s. the Thekla was a delightful venue whose stage was in the hull of a boat on one of Bristol's canals. it has played host to The Locust, Boris and a shitload of other ace bands, including the loudest show i think i've ever been to - Q and not U in july 2006)
