Is a self-deprecating sense of humour, (OK individuals buck this trend) any display or admission of self fault with America seems to be leapt on with accusations of betrayal and treason.....in the UK the ability to laugh at ourselves is considered to be one of our strengths, this might be the reason that Irony comes easier to us, since we do not self censor quite so much.
