Merapi
Looks like, after a month of rumblings, the Javanese volcano Mt Merapi is about to blow

This volcano has been active for 10,000 years and has produced more lava flow than any other volcano in the world
Not far from Merapi is the Buddhist temple of Borobudar
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borobudur
which was actually built from blocks of lava sometime between 1200 and 1300 years ago and was lost for over 800 years under a blanket of volcanic ash following a huge eruption of Merapi exactly 1000 years ago this year
I think volcanoes are fascinating and this one in particular - I hope all the people are evacuated safely
what do you think?
I shall be watching Merapi closely for a big bang...
