The movie opens with a disclaimer which says something like:

"This film contains images of the dead which may upset the indigenous people." [of Australia]

Sophie and I found this a little puzzling. There were a few old pictures of Aborigines chained up but I can't imagine Amistad had such a disclaimer at the front.

Is there some new law or did someone pull some sort of court case to cause all period films to now have to make sure they warn you you might get peeved about your ancestors?
