Your Leaver's Do or 'Prom' Or Whatever You Say
Did you go to it, for school?
I've got loads of reasons not to go, and I need reasons for and against, you see.
Reasons against:
-My band was asked to play. We accepted. One of the organising teachers wasn't happy, so in front of our science class, attempted to ridicule us, saying: 'At a school leaver's do, people don't wanna be listening to 'ARCTIC bloody MONKEYS' or 'FRANZ FERDINAND' (because we've covered them). You'll go down terribly, and no-one will enjoy you at all. There's no point.' (I did argue back and silence her.)
-My school is probably one of the worst places in Britain. 15 out of 200 kids this year will get A-C's in their GCSE's. Everyone, bar about 30 people in the school is a tart - male or female. Absolute scum.
-I've just bought a ticket for the new NME tour which is on the same night.
I want to know if you went/didn't go, and why. Also, what did you call it?
Is it a Burnley thing to call it a 'do'?
