Just watching this thing on BBC2 about Live8, i'd forgotten how truly awful and cringemaking it was. I didn't even see Bono and McCartney doing Sgt Pepper's (Bono jigging next to McCartney waiting for the chorus?!), Madonna, the 'queen bee of rock'n'roll', then bringing out that poor Ethiopian lass who had to sing with Maddie, oh dear lord! And of course we're all now more aware of the plight of Third World countries and have totally changed our outlooks and we are all now doing so much to help the cause
