do you ever think that the only thing you have in common with some of your friends.....is actually being friends?

i went out last night with a load of mates and as the night went on, i thought to myself that with one or two of them....i havent actually got that much in common with them anymore....but we have known each other since we were about 4, and thats the reason we are still friends. other than that...we dont share the same interests, humour and seem to struggle to agree on anything. we lead totally different lives and the only reason we went out is that 'we havent been out together for ages'

maybe i am over analysing a bit, but thats how i saw it!
