At the wedding I was at this weekend, my gf and I had separate conversations with both halves of a couple.

She told my gf that she left her previous long term partner because he had no direction in life, whereas she loves that her current partner is so career-focused, that he really loves his job, and that it facilitates "a certain lifestyle" that she very much enjoys.

I had spoken to him for about thirty seconds before he, unprompted, started listing off all the reasons why he hates his job.
