Can being drunk make a person different or just less self-aware and guarded?
Was just thinking about Eric Clapton being a racist and blaming being drunk, then about a former friend who was offensive after a few pints. Can people realistically blame alcohol for making them say things they truly didn't believe, or does it simply make them less guarded and say things that they wouldn't say when sober because they're aware they'd get shouted down for them?
For instance, I'm fairly certain I would never be racist or say racist things, no matter how drunk I was. And I think someone who does do that is a racist.
Hm, interesting...
