RIO 2016: DAY 7
Very disappointing performance for the Brits in the swimming last night, and obviously there was a 4th place within a fingernail of third. The Dutch didn't fare any better, with a measly 5th for former Olympic champion Kromo. There was a first though, Simone Manuel (together with Canada's Penny Oleksiak), the first black woman ever to win gold in Olympic swimming.
On to today with medals in archery, athletics, boxing, track cycling, horsey stuff, fencing, judo, rowing, shooting, swimming tennis, trampolining and weightlifting.
My personal recommendation is to pay attention to what's happening over in the Velodrome, where in the men's team pursuit Bradley Wiggins will chase his fifth gold.
Very wet overnight in Rio, but the rain is due to stop any time soon now, with an overcast day ahead.
Over to you.
