RIO 2016: DAY 4
And we're ready for another day of Sporty McSportFace. First event is rowing at 12:30 PM.
Medals can be won today in the women's team artistic gymnastics, men's canoe slalom, women's synchronised 10m diving, horse jumping (team & individual), men's fencing, judo, women's shooting, swimming and weightlifting.
Team GB may or may not win something in the gymnastics, David Florence has a chance in his canoe, former Israeli world bronze winner Alice Schlesinger is up for judo, but the best opportunity to win gold today is for Siobhan O'Connor in the 200m individual medley. The British swimming team are outsiders for a medal in the men's 4x200m freestyle relay.
For the Dutch, Bas Verwijlen is a fencer worth paying attention to, as are Anicka Van Emden and Frank De Wit in the judo.
The medal table is being led by the USA, followed by China and Australia. Great Britain in 10th, just ahead of hosts Brazil in 11th and the Netherlands are in 15th position.
And finally, bad boy* Yuri Van Gelder celebrated qualifying for the individual rings final by going clubbing in Rio, getting utterly wasted and returning to the Olympic village at sunrise. He's been sent home, obviously.
