Was talking to a couple pals last night about this, you can even split the question between who got you into wrestling in the first place and who you think is best overall.

I've been watching some of the "greatest matches of all time" recently and a lot of them involved Shawn Michaels. I completely missed him however as I originally watched between 99-02 when he was injured and didn't come back until around 2012 after he retired *fyi I'm about to watch his retirement match*. Having now caught up, I love him. Think he's the perfect blend of entertainer and technical wrestler.

In hindsight, macho man randy savage, bret Hart, Chris Jericho, Kurt angle and yes, even Chris Benoit are/were all incredible and worthy and most recently CM Punk and Daniel Bryan made me start watching again a decade later.

From that 99-02 era though, the guys who made me love it were Triple H and... Edge.

Triple H went on to be a bit of a prick (although his work on NXT has been great) but at the time the dude was incredible. Able to do anything and look like a monster after previously standing in Michaels' shadow. He was involved in incredible matches in 2000 and 2001 with mick foley, jericho, stone cold and taker. Plus the guy is great on the mic.

Edge however I think generally surprises people. This was during Edge and Christian who were consistently heels during their amazing feuds with the baby face hardys and tweener Dudleys, both of whom had way more recognisable gimmicks. But the difference is, Edge and Christian won, and although they were sneaky heels, they deserved it too as they were both by far superior wrestlers. I enjoyed Christian too and know he had a late career resurgence, but Edge was the whole package and completely deserved his main event status for the rest of his career imo. He his the only guy to have won every title as well as king of the ring, money in the bank and royal rumble.

So yeah tl;dr but Edge. You?
