Why do pigeons so often have disfigured feet?
Hi everyone.
Would appreciate a bit of insider info from the pigeon experts on this.
I've noticed over the years that you see a lot pigeons knocking about that have one foot or bits of their foot missing, or otherwise just noticeably hobbling around. Why so common?
Some theories:
- pigeons are able to live reasonable lives even when born with what would be a decisive deformity in other species.
- pigeons are really careless and get their feet caught in stuff all the time.
- pigeons are vicious with each other behind closed doors and always go for the feet like cowards.
- people out there are catching and torturing pigeons.
Let me know what you think
